Cycle of events and training in support of entrepreneurship and the enhancement of the results of research for the PhD student s of the Scuola Normale Superiore
SNS 5.0 is the training initiative regarding entrepreneurship topics and the enhancement of research proposed by the Research and Technology Transfer Service, in collaboration with the network of experts in innovation and entrepreneurship that the Scuola has built up over the last few years. The initiative also responds to the commitment and initiatives of the Scuola within the EELISA project, from whose network in turn it receives support and encouragement through the participation of lecturers and students of the universities taking part.
The name “SNS 5.0” refers to the concept of «Industry 5.0», that is, collaborative industry, which aims to give added value to the world of productivity and to society, placing man and the environment in a central position. With the research of the Scuola in mind, the idea is to construct a culture of enhancement of the results of scientific activity capable of generating an impact on society, the local area and the environment, placing the students in a central position.
The goal is thus to disseminate awareness among the students, the development of a culture and the definition of an «SNS model» of knowledge transfer and the creation of impact starting from the involvement of PhD students as a target of excellence.
The initiative consists of a cycle of 6 modules, each taking place over a dedicated day and divided into 3 parts:
Experiences, dedicated to the illustration of practical cases of a specific topic, with the involvement of spin-off companies or other representatives of the world of research that have already tried out solutions and methods, with the aim of providing the participants with concrete cases (in a learning by doing approach); this part lasts around two hours.
Training, an opportunity for theoretical in-depth exploration with experts on the subject, of a duration of around two hours.
Networking, bringing the day to a close, consisting of an aperitif with the speakers, the companies of the incubator or the Polo, and any other subjects present at the event, to create an opportunity for informal exchange among students and experts.
The initiative is intended for PhD students of all three faculties of the Scuola. Other research personnel of the Scuola interested in the subject may also attend.
The days are to be held in the dedicated spaces of the Polo Tecnologico di Navacchio.
The lectures will be in English.
