Start Cup Toscana is the competition that rewards the best entrepreneurial initiatives with high technological content emerging from the world of research. It offers participants the opportunity to transform an idea into a business, supported by training activities and assistance in drafting a business plan.

The 2025 edition is organized by the University of Pisa, which will host the final event, in collaboration with the Regional Office for Technology Transfer.

The competition is aimed at groups of individuals developing business ideas based on the results of scientific, technological, social, or humanistic research, or on the knowledge acquired during their academic or research paths within Tuscan universities, public or private research institutions, or public or private Scientific Institutes for Research, Hospitalization and Healthcare that have at least one administrative or operational office in Tuscany.

The initiative targets individuals who have developed entrepreneurial ideas based on scientific, technological, social, or humanistic research activities and on the knowledge acquired during their studies or research, and who:

• aspire to establish a company;

• have established a company on or after October 1, 2024;

• have established a company between January 1 and September 30, 2024, but with the official start of operations (as indicated in the business registration certificate) on or after October 1, 2024.

The deadline for submitting applications is September 10, 2025, by 11:59 PM.
