Patent abstract
The invention relates to a solution comprising: a heteropolyacid and a lanthanide salt in a solvent consisting of a water/organic solvent mixture or an organic solvent. Optionally, the solution may also include an organic or inorganic buffer having a pH in the range of 4-6 or a strong base or acid. Also within the scope of the present invention is a use of said solution and any reaction products between its components as a contrastant for biological samples and a method of preparing biological samples, using said solution in at least one step, for analysis by both correlative microscopy (CLEM) and electron microscopy (EM).
