Abstract brevetto
A method for detecting analytes within a fluid, comprising the steps of arranging a sensing device comprising at least one SAW sensor, said or each SAW sensor comprising a substrate having an outer surface comprising at least one piezoelectric portion, at least one interdigital emitting transducer arranged on said piezoelectric portion of said outer surface, said interdigital emitter transducer arranged to emit a surface acoustic wave in response to an incoming electrical signal, at least one reflector electrode arranged on said outer surface, said reflector electrode arranged to reflect said acoustic wave back to said interdigital emitter transducer. A plurality of probe molecules is then adsorbed onto said outer surface of said substrate and/or onto said or each emitting interdigital transducer and/or onto said or each reflector electrode, upon sending n electrical input signals, having respective frequencies fi, with i = 1, to said emitting interdigital transducer and subsequent transmission by said or each emitting interdigital transducer of at least one surface acoustic wave, reflection by said or each reflector electrode of said or each emitted surface acoustic wave, identifying, among said n frequencies /j of said input electrical signals,at least one resonance frequency fr corresponding to the generation of a surface acoustic wave with power greater than a predetermined threshold PT, conveying said fluid to said external surface and/or to said or each interdigital emitter transducer and/or to said or each reflector electrode, removal of said fluid from said external surface and/or from said or each interdigital emitter transducer and/or from said or each reflector electrode, verifying any change in the value of at least one previously identified resonance frequency fr.
