Open call for funding for 3 research grants – AFR 2024 Programme – VISION Project

The call for applications is now open for the funding of 3 research grants, within the framework of the AFR 2024 programme of the Region of Tuscany. The grants are part of the multidisciplinary research project entitled VISION.

Within the framework of the programme ‘AFR 2024 – Advanced Training and Research-Action’,promoted by the Tuscan region within the framework of Giovanisì, the call for applications is open for the selection of no. 3 research scholarships aimed at carrying out multidisciplinary research entitled ‘Valorisation of Research and Impact for Sustainable InnovatiON’ (VISION) lasting 24 months, at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Scuola Normale Superiore and Scuola IMT Alti Studi di Lucca.

At the end of the advanced training and action-research pathway, the students will be able to identify and promote protected results towards industrial investors and to develop negotiating skills and appropriate contractual tools for their industrial valorisation. The training courses aim to train competent professionals who can autonomously support technology transfer activities, using strategic approaches of marketing, licence negotiation and contracting to maximise the impact and exploitation of research.

The course will be structured as follows

  • 2 months of advanced training, with participation in advanced training courses, conferences and courses on intellectual property, valorisation of research and technology transfer;
  • 18.5 months of research-action at the offices in charge of research enhancement and technology transfer of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Scuola Normale Superiore and Scuola IMT Alti Studi Lucca, wher each scholarship holder will carry out activities characterising his/her pathway;
  • 3.5 characterising months at the Regional Technology Transfer Office (URTT).

The total amount of each scholarship, gross of any tax and social security deductions to be paid by the scholarship holder, where envisaged by the regulations in force, amounts to EUR 43,200.00 (1800.00/month).

The assessment procedure, consisting of a stage for the evaluation of qualifications and an interview, is aimed at candidates who are in possession of a master’s degree or an old-school degree (or equivalent foreign qualification), subject to the prior submission and evaluation of the application. Each candidate may express a preference as to the location of the scholarship when submitting the application.
