The present invention relates to the determination of the supramolecular organization in a substance that includes molecules and nanocarriers at least one of which is luminescent, based on a lifetime decay data collection step of at least one pure or substantially pure standard substance in which a known state of organization of the molecules and nanocarriers are pure or substantially pure; and a comparison step of standard data and test data from a test substance.
